Using Digiweb Broadband Talk (VoIP) is exactly the same as using your home phone i.e. you make and receive calls in exactly the same way.

What is VoIP?

Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) is a technology that allows you to make telephone calls using Digiweb’s internet connection instead of your traditional phone line. The packet technology used in VoIP makes more efficient use of communication channels than traditional telephony, which dedicates a distinct voice channel to each individual conversation that is underway.

How does VoIP work?

VoIP phone calls are made through your Fritz!Box using an Analog Telephone Adaptor (ATA). This allows you to connect your standard telephone handset or DECT basestation to your Fritz!Box for making / receiving telephone calls. The ATA takes the analog signal from your standard phone and turns it into a signal that is ready to be sent over your Digiweb broadband connection.

Using VoIP Telephone Service with Fritz!Box

Connect your telephone to the “FON 1” port on the back of the Fritz!Box to start using your VoIP telephone service. The VoIP “Internet light” circled below will be steady green when Digiweb Broadband Talk VoIP is active.
