What is Internet Access Switching (IASS)?
All internet providers in Ireland should offer internet access switching and give you the option to switch your internet service when you join. If you have decided to avail of this service and you provide the relevant details to Digiweb, we will notify your old provider on your behalf to let them know that you want to cease internet service.
What information do I need to give for switching in order to avail of ?
- You will need to be the account holder of your existing service and provide the following information if opting in and providing your consent for broadband switching.
- For Broadband: old provider name, account number, service reference number/ID & Eircode along with the first line of address.
Will I lose service during switching?
No, we won’t notify your old provider to cease services until your new Digiweb broadband or phone line service is live.
Continuity of service when switching
When switching to Digiweb we will ensure that your services are active before we instruct your old provider to cease your old services.
Implications for other services
Services you may have with your old provider, including a phone and/or TV service may also cease on switching. However, Digiweb staff will ensure your full understanding on best practices in these situations.
Troubleshooting
Whenever you may experience any issues with your switching or port as your new provider Digiweb will aim to resolve this for you. This may require some assistance form your old provider.
Industry process support
The established industry processes for switching and porting are designed to deliver seamless switching between providers in Ireland. However, should an issue arise at any step in the process, we will cooperate with your old provider to address any issue. For Landline Phone Numbers you’ll also need: Universal account number (UAN) and Customer account number/customer ID and number to be ported.
